Shock Your Potential

Jumping Off a Cliff
Thoughts From the Coffee Table:  Yesterday I did something I never thought I would ever do.  I jumped off a cliff.  Literally! I have never been accused of being a thrill seeker.  I don't even like rollercoasters.  But in the past few years I have been trying to do things that scare me just a bit to prove that I can face a challenge. Yesterday I went hang gliding off the cliffs and over the ocean in Lima, and still feel the strain in my arms from holding the straps so tight.  My pilot tried to get me to let ...

Hilton – Lima, Peru
Thoughts from the Coffee Table: Ok, call me a sucker. I probably am in many ways. But the small gestures during travel make me smile. Friday we set off on an adventure that is part pleasure and part work, flying to Lima, Peru. Our flights were good and relatively short (only 6 hours from ATL) and we enjoyed only a 1 hour time change. Nonetheless, arriving in a new country at midnight can be daunting and exhausting. Lush Spa – Perspective in Philly
Thoughts from the Coffee Table: As a thank you for my leadership training with the Lush team, I was treated to a spa treatment. I had no idea what to expect from something called Synaethesia. I know that sounds a bit dramatic, which is part of the challenge I have had in writing about it. At its core, this is ...

Gloria Ferrer Winery
Thoughts From the Coffee Table: As a consumer, I was surprised by the cost of the wine "tastings" throughout CA. As a former VP of Sales, I see the positive revenue correlation. Gloria Ferrer was on my "must return to" list, as much for the fabulous sparkling wines as for the experience of the view. When we were last there we enjoyed the great outdoor patio, sipping our wine while being completely overrun by large black flies. The memory still makes me laugh... This time, however, our experience was made exceptional by our server. His knowledge of the wines was ...

Swedish Fish All Alone
Thoughts from the Coffee Table: The other day I walked by three sad little Swedish Fish that had been dropped on the sidewalk. I stopped to take a picture and I wasn't immediately certain why. Every time I flip through my pics, I stop to look at this little piece of candy. Now, I really love Swedish Fish! But perhaps most telling is that this lonely little piece of gummy goodness reminds me of how we have a responsibility to always operate with positive intent. I should have picked these up and thrown them away. I knew the hot day ...
