Thoughts From the Coffee Table: My friend Rocky Romanella would say that someone forgot to Tighten the Lug Nuts.
T minus 7 days before I take 2 weeks off. It’s not a normal vacation. A few days to enjoy Christmas with family followed by 10 days helping my son and grandkids move and get settled into a new job. I am trying to finish my 2019 budget, work on a zillion projects, and am 17 days into a new fitness plan.
In the last week I have found myself occasionally staring blindly at my computer, forgetting myself in the sheer volume of things I am trying to juggle. What am I forgetting? What is most urgent? How am I going to get it all done?
On my walk this morning I came across this sight, and it stopped me in my tracks. Rocky’s book, Tighten the Lug Nuts, reminds me (literally) that there are critical “little things” that cannot be overlooked. The things that may not make you but definitely could break you.
As I sat down at my desk this morning I took time to just write. To plan. To strategize. To remind myself which important details are critical these next 7 days, and which ones I need to let go until January 7.
After all, what good is the shiny red paint, if the wheels fall off?
