Thoughts From the Coffee Table: I have been thinking about gratitude lately.
Over Christmas I enjoyed a truly fabulous vacation. My husband and I traveled with 3 couples on a catamaran for a week in the British Virgin Islands. Just 3 months after a 1-2 punch from both hurricanes, we saw massive devastation throughout the islands and in Puerto Rico. The US Virgin Islands were hit just as bad.
The people we met were resilient and positive, and yet today there are still so many people in need. Especially in the schools.
Today Good Morning America featured “Adopt a Classroom” as one way we can help the US Virgin Islands. There is a $750-$1000 commitment to provide one classroom with basics like crayons and pencils and other simple things that mean so much.
I decided that I needed to be a part of this. Maybe some of you do as well.
If you’d like to be a part of the classroom I adopt, please let me know. Once I get the classroom and their wish-list I will see what people want to contribute.
If you’d like to make your own donation, check out http://www.adoptafamilyusvi.com for a family or a classroom.
Amazing that a box of crayons could bring such joy. While I was complaining about the 4th Nor’easter, I was reminded to keep my priorities in focus.
