Thoughts From the Coffee Table: If you are as old as I am, you had to read George Orwell’s 1984 in school. Written in 1949, it was truly a futuristic look at how “Big Brother” controlled people. I wonder what he would think of the show Big Brother today.
Many people I know hate to be tracked by their data. I say bring it on!
I am not sure why I always use my Whole Foods number when I shop there. I get no discounts. But I think I really enjoy giving a company access to critical information such as how much cheese I buy and why I now prefer whole milk to 2%.
Yesterday I received an email from ClassPass. “We see you recently opened our app. We miss you. Come back and get 5 free classes.” Yes, they are cyber-stalking me. And I love it!
This company is very smart. It took me all of 5 seconds to say yes. By the way, I am heading to a class soon, so MUST finish this post.
While watching GMA this morning, I see that that ClassPass is also at the forefront of live streaming classes I can do in my own living room. Brilliant marketing matching superb tracking and impeccable timing. Since I finally got on the scale yesterday after the holidays.
