Thoughts From the Coffee Table: I was born too late. I should have been a hippie.
Lotions and potions and bubbles (of all kinds) draw me in. And I am a firm believer in the role that scent has on your mood.
You can often find me wandering through a conference room with a bottle of grapefruit essential oils prior to speaking. The scent wakes you up and makes you more positively engaged.
Yep. I try to stack the deck in my favor.
This morning this candle burns softly in my office. I am not sure what Three Kings is. Maybe frankincense and myrrh, but then again, I have no idea what those smell like.
But this candle is more than just light and scent. It also comes with a handle (and stylish) wooden spoon. The idea is to scoop out little spoonfuls of the melted wax and rub into your hands as lotion. I was more than a bit skeptical at first.
The wax becomes lotion, warm enough to soak into your skin but not hot enough to burn you. It takes a bit of moxie to do it the first time, but once you don’t run away screaming or feeling like you are a part of some deviant activity, it is absolutely lovely. Especially on a blizzard morning.
I am hooked. I see more of these in my future.
If only to begin a collection of tiny wooden spoons.
