Thoughts From The Coffee Table: Balance is one of those words we throw around, especially when it comes to work/life balance. In fact, I find that when most people use that term, they mean “I want to work less and live more.”
I’ve always been a super high-energy crazy working machine, and I have been accused more than once of working too much. In the last few years, however, I have paid close attention to the balance. Work like crazy when you are working, and live like crazy when you aren’t.
But even while you are working, find life in the moments. Start the day with a walk/run. Meditate before your first project of the day. Stop to eat a healthy lunch away from your work space.
And find ways to play every day. Nothing can make you more creative or relaxed than play that ties us to the child within.
I got my first two jars of “therapy” dough yesterday, and my inner child was released! The smell is amazing. The texture is perfect. And the concept sparks new life in me.
Today, I am going to focus on the girl who loved to finger-paint in kindergarten, while working on my new book. And then, maybe a nap!
