Thoughts From The Coffee Table:  A few years ago I wanted to begin meditating, but I really had no idea where to begin.  And most importantly, I wasn’t certain I could even do it.  After all, I’m not known for being a quiet person.

Watching GMA one weekend, Dan Harris, the host, shared a very personal story with millions of people in introduction to his book  10% Happier: Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics.

Because I find him truly genuine, and because the message seemed to resonate with me, I bought the book. Now I use the app, and have found that I can even meditate on my own when or if I want to.  This tool has been likely a comforting hand and a supportive friend.

When I meditate in the morning, my day is clearer and brighter and more focused.  I have a sense of quiet, when needed, that no one (especially me) would believe I could posses.

Of all the blessings in my life, I now know better what I can control, what I can’t, and what doesn’t even matter.
