Thoughts from the Coffee Table: This morning I was the recipient of exceptionally poor customer service while trying to get a doctor’s appointment. The situation made me frustrated and disappointed, especially as I was just about to sit down to write this post.
Then I remembered this man. His name is Royal. We met him in Manchu Picchu. While he was touring the ruins. With his cane and oxygen tank. While we were barely keeping our breath…
We walked by him with his guide and his son, and were all so impressed. We met them later at the bar in the hotel and spoke briefly, all laughing after he announced that “All I need is one pisco sour and then it’s time for bed!” When they left the bar we all wished we would have asked for a picture.
Luckily we found them one more time and got the pic. After speaking for just a few moments, we found out that he actually had been a customer of the company my husband and his colleague work for and knew many of the same people. It truly is a small world.
But mostly I want to recognize the strength of this man and the love of his son. No matter the challenges I face, I take strength from him today!
