Thoughts from the Coffee Table: As I witnessed the sunrise over Manchu Picchu yesterday morning, I found myself overwhelmed with gratitude. I have a wonderful life filled with so many blessings.
This trip is slightly more than half way over, and the number of stories and examples I have of excellence in customer service are simply astounding. The level of hospitality and genuine joy and care of travelers by the Peruvian people has far exceeded all of my expectations.
Tomorrow morning I believe I will tell the tale of Gorki, a bartender extraordinaire on the Hiram Bingham train. Look for the glass of whiskey to highlight the tale. Or maybe one of hundreds of others.
This morning I am still thankful, and intend to drink up my last whole day in Peru, with the wide eyes of a child.
