Thoughts from the Coffee Table: Ok, call me a sucker. I probably am in many ways. But the small gestures during travel make me smile.
Friday we set off on an adventure that is part pleasure and part work, flying to Lima, Peru. Our flights were good and relatively short (only 6 hours from ATL) and we enjoyed only a 1 hour time change. Nonetheless, arriving in a new country at midnight can be daunting and exhausting.
Our first few nights have been at the Hilton on points, and even though I should expect it by now, the sight of a welcome snack in room fills me with childish glee.
This plate was especially delicious, because although we are seasoned travelers, there is nothing like being “welcomed” with food. Many other great experiences have followed, but this one effort truly set the stage.
